Students bite back groans, not wanting to end up with more work, but I raise my hand with an innocent smile. “Professor? Can I do mine on the clockmaker’s tools?”

He pauses, eyeing me with surprise. “Oh? You’ve found a sudden interest to learn, Mr. De Aragon?”

“I’m really interested in what the blower does, sir.” I smirk, the class snickering around me. X’s face starts turning red with anger as he stares me down, his voice sharp.

“You want to learn? Fine. Stay behind and I’ll give you one-on-one lessons.”

“One-on-one blowing lessons with the prof? I feel so special.” I chuckle, everyone bursting into laughter.

“Class dismissed! Nicolas! Keep your ass in that chair!” he barks, waiting for everyone to file out of the room before slamming the door and turning to me with pure fury. “I’ve had about enough of you being disruptive during my lessons!”

I cock my head, leaning back in my chair to watch him as he makes his way back toward his desk. “You want me to be a good boy, X? I think we both know you’re enjoying our back-and-forth banter. You like the challenge.”

“What I like is for my students to remain silent unless spoken to,” he hisses, smacking his palm down on his desk. “So yes, be a fucking good boy for me, before I throw you out of my class.”

“You know, you give off daddy vibes. You need to get used to not having all the control,” I murmur as I get to my feet and stroll toward him, his eyes running over me with confusion.

“I told you to stay in your seat.”
